KC Express Women’s Self-Defense Seminar 1/22/09

Our popular self-defense presentation and demonstration was expanded into a 2 hour class held January 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lodge at Ironwoods, 14701 Mission Road, Leawood, Kansas. Officer Mark Chudik and his associates taught us easy and practical self-defense moves and gave us life-saving self-defense advice. This free educational program promoting the health and safety of women was made possible by proceeds from the Mother's Day 5K.

Past projects:

Over 90 women enjoyed the KC Express Run/Walk Seminar for Women on March 31, 2007.   Keynote speaker Judy Mahle Lutter presented "Finding time for fun: physical activity as the key to mental and physical health".
Judy Lutter is a renowned women’s health educator, writer, speaker, and researcher. She founded the Melpomene Institute to study and report on the health issues facing physically active women. She authored The Bodywise Woman and Of Heroes, Hopes, and Level Playing Fields, as well as numerous articles for academic and popular publications. KC Express is proud to have offered this excellent speaker to Kansas City’s women.

KC Express takes on various educational and charitable special projects from time to time.   For example, we have been Bell Ringers for the Salvation Army, we hosted a special run to raise funds for the Tsunami victims, and we participated in Health Fairs for Bank of Blue Valley, Danisco, City of Lenexa, and Girl Scouts.  If you have suggestions for special projects, please contact President Cathy Casto:
